Web Controls
The seven Enterprise Blocks Web Controls are presentation components for ASP.NET written in DHTML and JavaScript. The components have zero footprint on the client and do not require anything other than the web page to be downloaded by the browser. They can be dropped into any ASP.NET Web Forms page to build custom analytic applications.
Each web control has a set of methods and properties that let programmers manipulate the information within the component, turn features on and off, and control the user interface. There are also a number of events exposed by each web control allowing the programmer to capture and react to common user activity. The web controls work directly against the Enterprise Blocks Services providing a standard user interface to all the methods of the services.

OLAP
As standard features of any analytic application, Enterprise Blocks contains web controls for slicing, tiling, drilling through multidimensional data sets, managing large lists of data, and exporting to different data formats. Enterprise Blocks also supports the use of custom scripts such as MDX for generating data sets from a database. Built-in charting with support for 40 chart types and a WYSIWYG chart property web form are also featured. This allows powerful charts to be created at run-time from any web browser without any programming.
Advanced Filtering
Enterprise Blocks includes web controls that make creating powerful data analyses a user-friendly experience. The controls use a unique template design to make creating complex queries as easy as clicking through hyperlinks.
Specialty Applications
Enterprise Blocks web controls can be used to build highly interactive and complex applications on the web including context sensitive drilling to other applications or write-back centric applications such as budgeting, forecasting, or planning applications.
Publishing
Enterprise Blocks is unique in that it allows applications to be developed using web controls that are open but still supports saving and retrieving content to and from a meta data repository using the Enterprise Blocks catalog controls. This content can include any object that supports the process of data analysis including reports, charts, custom members, or saved filters. The repository for these objects can be any repository including enterprise portals, a BI product's meta data tables, or a simple Windows file system.
